THE MOBILE AREA AGENCIES USE "TRUNKING SYSTEMS". THE SYSTEMS WORK WELL FOR SOME THINGS BUT NOT FOR ALL THINGS. THE COUNTY WIDE SYSTEM IS AN "GE/ERRICSON-EDACS" SETUP. MOBILE CITY USES THE "MOTOROLA" SYSTEM. THE CITY OF DAPHNE IN BALDWIN COUNTY USES A "EF/JOHNSON LTR" TRUNKING SYSTEM. WHILE OTHERS STILL USE THE VHF/UHF CONVENTIONAL RADIO SETUPS. I have tones of freqs and info that I could still add to it and I might. The ham guy that emailed me that said I was giving out to much "police" info will "for sure" hate it now. He knows who he is. I bought the new radio shack freq. cd & book (2003 ver) just to check it out. Free advice, in my opinion save your money. Nothing in it of any real use. The cd is still not right, the layout still needs help. Come here and get your freqs for the Mobile County Area. The radio shack Pro-95 can be modified I have seen it. Sorry I will not cover it. Go to http://www.google.com and look . I will when the time is right cover the digital scanners. South Mississippi is digital in some areas already.I WANT a scanner that will monitor southern linc police radios. I will even take a southern linc phone mod that will open the squelch to listen to all radio traffic. Before anyone e-mails me Yes it can be done and has been done, and no I do not want to listen in on phone calls that would be illegal. I would never want to do that. You can open a pager to recv all on air traffic too. Check the laws to find out if it is legal in your area. I am not responsible for your legal or illegal use of this info. Yes I have read a lot about "APCO 25 digital encryption system mandated to be in place nation wide by 2005." Yes mandated bothers me .
